Built by members, #1. Stan Meyer's pulse cards, the 9XA and 9XB gated pulse driver and the 9XE sequential gate, rebuilt by Chris Bake on a seven-dollar Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W: PICO-SIGGEN. The timing runs in the Pico's PIO hardware, so every pulse lands on an exact clock (a 1.000 µs pulse is 150 clocks at 150 MHz) and WiFi, the web interface and the encoders can't move it. Like the 9XE it steps the pulses in sequence, with pulse elongation and offset, and attenuation stepped through the sequence by PWM. He's even wired it to the archive's AI, so StanBot can trigger his scope and read the probes. The design and the code are free in his workshop on stanslegacy.com. Build one, and show us yours.
About the voices. The narrator is NeuralStan, an AI voice the archive uses for its made films. Where you hear Stan Meyer, it is Stan: every word of his is cut from an original recording, and nothing he says was synthesised.
