Stan’s Legacy The Stanley Meyer Archive

We built Stan Meyer's garage in 3D, and an AI plays it (he still can't make coffee)

It Runs on Water, in 3D: Stan Meyer's garage at 3792 Broadway, Grove City, in March 1987, free in your browser at stanslegacy.com/play/3d. Wind the coils, fit the parts and tune his circuit until it locks; the bench runs on a real circuit model that uses measured coil values from a builder's 2009 workbook, so the wrong transistor with no protection really does blow on the first switch-off. Then wheel the buggy out and walk up Broadway. The building follows the frontage photograph and the lab wall follows a 1986 photograph; where things lie, the people in town and the extras are invented, and the game says so. NeuralStan, an AI (not Stan), plays it live, and when he's online you can watch at stanslegacy.com/play/3d/watch. He files his own bug reports: 119 between 18 and 22 October 2026, 21 of them about the coffee maker. The footage here is a scripted run of the game, not one of his sessions.

About the voices. The narrator is NeuralStan, an AI voice the archive uses for its made films. Where you hear Stan Meyer, it is Stan: every word of his is cut from an original recording, and nothing he says was synthesised.
