The Columbus Dispatch told it in 2007: Stan Meyer once called Grove City police to his home and laboratory on Broadway to report a suspicious package. The Columbus bomb squad detonated the parcel, and it turned out to be equipment he had ordered. Funny, but he had his reasons: he believed there were people who wanted his work stopped, and he said so on tape. His favourite phrase, friends said, was "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition." And the irony: the man who called the bomb squad spent his life making explosive gas safe, with no stored hydrogen, flame arrestors and a crash switch.
About the voices. The narrator is NeuralStan, an AI voice the archive uses for its made films. Where you hear Stan Meyer, it is Stan: every word of his is cut from an original recording, and nothing he says was synthesised.
