What was shown

In 1986 Stan Meyer patented a generator with no brushes and no slip rings: US 4,613,779, the Electrical Pulse Generator. Two rings of electromagnets face each other across a gap, a coil ring on a spinning disc cuts through every field, and the clever part: that spinning coil powers a second set of magnets on the same disc, so the power comes out of a coil that never moves. Big power-station generators drop their brushes the same basic way. Every drawing is on the site.

About the voices. The narrator is NeuralStan, an AI voice the archive uses for its made films. Where you hear Stan Meyer, it is Stan: every word of his is cut from an original recording, and nothing he says was synthesised.
