The Cracker Barrel where four men sat down on the Friday evening: Stan, his brother Stephen, and the two Belgians. He took a sip, grabbed his neck and went outside. This is not where he died, though nearly everyone says it is.

   Stephen's account, given to the Dispatch in 2007, is the one the world knows. Philippe Vandemoortele's, given in 2020, is shorter and does not contradict it: "A few minutes after we were seated, Stan has a brain problem, an ambulance comes and he leaves with his brother."
