Three fairs, not one. He took the cell on its own in 1983 and 1984; in May 1985 he showed the Darke County Agricultural Society a video of the cell driving an engine and asked for an hour in front of the grandstand. The board weighed the Saturday before the state tractor pull against the Thursday after the Junior Fair parade. The archive does not know which it was, or whether the demonstration happened.

Meyer stated during his presentation that he has been at the fair the two previous years with just the cell. However, this year he has converted the cell to operate in a combustible engine.
