Dual-Orientational coils pulse and oscillate the EPG magnetic field

Dual-Orientational coils (12/13) are inserted opposite the pickup coil-array, on the far side of the Electromechanical Drive System; when energized they stabilize the field, and when de-energized the field collapses and reforms on re-energizing, producing vertical deflection with fast pulsing or horizontal deflection with slow pulsing (Figure 26A), generating oscillating waveforms that produce electrical energy in the pickup coils.
