Electrovalent bonding arises from unequal covalent electron sharing between unlike atoms

When unlike atoms share electrons covalently, the electrons migrate toward the atom with the greater total positive nuclear charge, causing that atom to become negatively charged (B-) while the other becomes positively charged (B+), forming a polar molecule (q - q').
