The Electromagnetic Pump Assembly (30) acts as a direct-drive linear induction motor, with the coil-array (35a-35n) as stator displacing the magnetic fluid-medium along a bearing surface; it may run on three-phase AC or single-phase AC with a capacitor (33, Figure 26E), and a mechanical switch (43) reverses the field sweep to reverse fluid travel direction.
