Fig 8-1 (770) a–h read as a pulse-dose / residence-time picture, not a spatial wavelength

Chris Freedom's reading (Discord #neuralstan20-testing, 2026-10-18): the a–h humps in Fig 8-1 (770, Memo WFC 427) show how many pulse periods (or gated groups) a parcel of water receives as it travels through the wave-guide, not a wave fitted to the tube. Literal spatial reading fails: at kHz carriers the wavelength in water (v ≈ c/√80 ≈ 3.4e7 m/s) is km; at gate frequencies of 0.5–100 Hz it is 335 km to 67,000 km. The reading is consistent with the 8-3 timing notation (T1/T2a – T3 – T1/T2n), with letters a…n as pulse-train indices in time, and with Memo 427's "injected water bath (85)". Dose relations: residence t_res = L / v_flow; carrier pulses per parcel N = f_pulse × t_res × gate duty; gated groups per parcel = f_gate × t_res; spatial spacing of the groups in the water frame = v_flow / f_gate. Example for a 150 mm tube: 8 groups need v_flow = 0.019 m/s at a 1 Hz gate, 0.19 m/s at 10 Hz, 1.9 m/s at 100 Hz. The text does not state this interpretation explicitly. Proposed check: whether the hump spacing in taper Fig 8-9 (830) changes along the taper, as a varying flow speed would require.
