Scotchn's UU nanocrystalline cut core: vendor test sheet (16 kHz, 37 mT), core-limited Q ≈ 7.5; used only as a low-level test bench core
Vendor sheet posted by Scotchn, Discord #neuralstan20-testing 2026-10-04. Test: 16 kHz, 20 °C, Bm 36.96 mT, Hm 4.201 A/m, N1=N2=3, dated 2025-03-27. Core: UU cut core, Le 372.8 mm, Ac 340 mm² (20x20 mm, stacking 85%), 920 g, dims A20 B45 C110 D20 mm. Results: µa 8.796 mH/m (µr ≈ 7000, includes cut gap), δ 7.568° (tanδ 0.133, core-limited Q ≈ 7.5), Ps 0.1416 W/kg, Ss 1.075 VA/kg, Br 5.085 mT, Hc 0.5819 A/m, Br/Bm 0.1376, 2Φm 0.02513 mWb. Derived: AL ≈ 8.0 µH/N² at 16 kHz (handwritten note: 7 µH @ 1 kHz). Bsat not on sheet; ~1.2 T typical assumed → ~51 A-turns to saturate. Scotchn: known to be the WRONG core for the VIC (see #3431); he uses it only for low-level insight tests because cardboard bobbins slide on/off for trivial winding changes. Model the winding with parallel loss R ≈ Q·ωL when interpreting decays.
