VIC design session v102: best candidate (Q=7.0, 94.9kHz)

Sweep — Raise coil Q with tighter AWG24 chokes at fewer turns to pull f_r into 55-75kHz, lifting V_cell toward ~150 Td at the adopted 60V sub-breakdown drive, with a couple short high-peak edges to map the breakdown ceiling.

  • Cell — 12mm rod in 28.0mm tube × 90mm, 6 cell(s) parallel → C_eff = 2.81nF, bulk water R = 5126Ω.
  • Water/electrodes (Randles) — 2ppm Na+ @ 25°C, surface ×1 → λ_D 53nm, C_dl 186.9µF, cell series R 70.3Ω, displacement current 89.5%, breakdown margin ×454.
  • Fig-8 voltammetry (4,798,661) — τ_EDL 958132.7µs (90900.2 carrier cycles to charge), Faradaic leakage at peak 1501.2mA (leak score 0.00 — keep amp leakage inhibited while voltage climbs the ladder).
  • Vapor-film discharge (CGDE onset, 1053V across 0.1mm film) — regime townsend-avalanche, film Paschen 719V, 420 Td.
  • Per-molecule (series micro-capacitor chain) — 29.63M molecules across 8.00mm → 35.55 µV/molecule (polarization (µV band)).
  • Chokes — 2 × 0.0005H (900 turns, AWG 22, 107m wire, AC R 7.3Ω each).
  • At resonance f_r = 94.87kHz — Xl = 596Ω, Xc = 596Ω, tank Q = 7.0, coil Q = 40.8.
  • Cell voltage 1053V from 150V drive (×7.0). Tank current 1.77A circulating (CW upper bound — rate wire/switch for this); average input 35mA at 2% duty.
  • No hard violations (band, wire length, dielectric). Average current is scored, not gated.
  • Score 0.364.
