Electrostatic coalescing device.
Electrostatic coalescing device wherein droplets of a relatively polar liquid, which are finely dispersed within a body of an immiscible relatively non-polar liquid, are coalesced during their passage through a simultaneously generated DC electrostatic field and an AC electrostatic field between electrodes (20, and surface electrode (22).
The electrodes (20, are connected to ground potential through rectifiers (26, arranged to maintain the strength of the DC electrostatic field as the dielectric strength of the liquid mixture decreases.
