The VHS shelf: twenty-nine tapes, catalogued from their labels

One shelf, three stacks, twenty-nine VHS cassettes. Twenty-four carry a label and five do not. Below is every label as written, with the archive's film beside it where one matches. Spelling is kept as written ("Sprongs", "Myer"); capitals are not. A question mark marks a word the photograph does not settle.

The same twenty-nine labels, nearly word for word, are the "Michigan collection" in Jim Miller's videography on ionizationx (who he is). He lists them as a "library shelf list" of private holdings, "provided to me anonymously", which "appear to be from the Wolverine69 collection". He had seen none of the tapes played, and neither has the archive.

What the shelf has that the archive does not

• Ukiah, California, July 1994. Six S‑VHS tapes marked "Stan Meyer master copy", numbered one to five, plus a tape of informal footage covering 14 to 18 July. SEER '94 was the fourth Solar Energy Expo and Rally, run by the Renewable Energy Development Institute of Willits, 15 to 17 July at the Redwood Empire Fairgrounds; Home Power put the crowd at over 7,000. Between them the tapes hold a panel discussion, an interview and a session in "Jr. Hall". The archive has none of this on film. All it holds is the Ukiah Daily Journal's guide to the fair, Fill the tank with water, whose calendar lists four water-fuel sessions but names no speaker. The tapes name him: tape ④, "Jr. Hall – 5 PM Saturday July 16", is the calendar's "Water Powered Car", Saturday 16 July, 5:00, Junior Building.
• "Atomic Energy Balance of Water", IANS Conference on New Energy, 16 to 18 April 1993. Two copies. Hal Fox's summary of the symposium in Fusion Technology (vol. 24, November 1993, pp. 344–346) lists "Stan Meyer, Atomic Energy Balance of Water" among some thirty speakers heard by about 300 people in Denver. The International Association for New Science (IANS) ran it as the International Symposium on New Energy, after a retreat at Estes Park on 14 to 16 April. The paper in the proceedings (pp. 389–406) has the title, subtitle and abstract of memo WFC 424. Every talk was taped, by BackCountry Productions of Longmont, Colorado, and New Energy News for October 1993 called Meyer's "an informative and recommended videotape". The film that circulates as "International Symposium on New Energy 1993" is Meyer's 1989 lecture at Einsiedeln (the transcript sets out why), so the 1993 talk is not in the archive.
• The Rick Schneider tapes. Two WFC "Document of Record" tapes: "The Rick Schneider Affair", and Schneider attending a WFC dealership seminar. What WFC said about Schneider is in the WFC Public Notice to Inform.
• "Green Team: Jeramie Travels: Water Fuel Cell". Nothing in the archive names a Green Team or a Jeramie.
• The 1988 masters. The dealership "Lab Talk" master of 11 April 1988 and the WFC teaching tape master of 12 April 1988. The archive's lab talk is a YouTube copy, so the master would be the better source, and its label gives the lab talk a date. Miller says two versions of the lab talk exist, the first "a little longer" with "more slides and a longer promotional ending", and that the teaching tape was made the day after both.

Put in date order, the five numbered tapes cover the fair from Friday to Sunday:

• Friday 15 July 1994: ① the day, and the panel discussion at the start of ②.
• Saturday 16 July: ③, which ends with an interview by someone called Walt, and ④, the 5 pm session in "Jr. Hall".
• Sunday 17 July: the end of ③, the miscellaneous footage at the end of ②, and ⑤, "rest of Sunday".

The fair's printed calendar lists the water-fuel sessions as: "Mutual Inductance Transformer", Saturday 10:00, Purdy Hall; "Atomic Energy of Water", Saturday 2:00, Purdy Hall; "Water Powered Car", Saturday 5:00, Junior Building, which is tape ④; and "Water Fuel Cell", Sunday 2:00, Purdy Hall, presumably on ⑤, "rest of Sunday".

The informal footage tape (right 7) runs from Thursday 14 to Monday 18 July, either side of the fair.
