A hot water heater, which is bombarded with cosmic and solar rays that strike our atmosphere, so as to trans fer energy from the rays to the heater; the heater includ ing a vacuum pyrex glass container of pentagonal shape when viewed from above, the container being placed upon a base, and enclosing a tubular coil, through which water or other fluids is pumped, so as to absorb the cosmic and solar ray energy, in order that heated fluid, leaving the heater, is thus utilized for various practical purposes.

COSMC AND SOLAR RAY HOT WATER HEATER solar ray hot water heater, according to the present invention, wherein there is an enclosure or container 11,

This invention relates to a hot water heater that uti that is placed upon a base 12. The container is made of lizes cosmic and solar ray energy. The primary function pyrex glass, that is made approximately three times the is to trap the energetic cosmic rays and utilize the solar thickness of ordinary window glass. The container is rays when available. made with five sides 13 which are angularly disposed, at There is a steady rain of charged particles, moving at forty-five degrees respective to a horizon, and each of nearly the speed of light, which fall upon the Earth at the five sides comprises a flat panel which taper to a all times and from all directions. These particles, which 10 common point or apex 14, so that when viewed from have become known as "cosmic rays," are the nuclei of above, the container is of pentagonal shape. ordinary atoms stripped from their electrons; for the The container, together with the base, encloses a vast majority of cosmic rays, the nuclei are those of vacuum chamber 15, inside which there is placed a hydrogen (but may be heavier nuclei, such as those of tubular coil 16. Opposite ends of the coil protrude oxygen). Most cosmic rays therefore consist of charged 15 downwardly, through the base, so as to form intake and protons. It must also be noted that these charged nuclei outlet ports 17 and 18, for a liquid, such as water, so as are the primary cosmic rays which strike our upper to flow through the coil.

Before the discovery of cosmic rays, the In operative use, it is now evident that cosmic and particles of highest energy known to man were those solar ray energy, passing through the pyrex container, emitted in the spontaneous decay of radioactive atoms. 20 will heat up the coil, so that liquid flowing through the In efforts to duplicate the effects of cosmic rays in the coil is thus heated up, and which is pumped outwardly laboratory, physicists developed accelerators capable of of the coil, so as to be utilized for practical purposes. achieving energies in particles 10,000 times those char In positioning the heater 10, it is to be noted that any acteristic of natural radioactivity. Cosmic rays have a one of the five points 19 of the device are positioned so broad spectrum of energies, ranging from thousands to 25 as to be towards the magnetic poles, on either side of the billions of electron volts (one electron volt, eV, is de equator, and the container can then take advantage, in fined as the energy acquired by an electron when accel full, of the sun's energy during the day on three sides erated by a potential difference of one volt). Other objects are to provide a cosmic and solar ray Additionally, as clearly shown in FIG. 7, the coil is water heater, which is simple in design, inexpensive to 50 not made from a tubing which is uniformly a same in manufacture, rugged in construction, easy to use and cross-sectional configuration. It will be noted, that the efficient in operation. lowermost turns of the coil are circular in cross-section, These, and other objects, will be readily evident, and this cross-section gradually becomes flattened out, upon a study of the following specification, and the as the turns approach the apex 32 of the coil.
