Diode (14) isolates fuel cell from high-voltage drive during transient startup

During transient startup, unidirectional diode (14) is non-conducting and isolates the water fuel cell from the high-voltage multiplying component (8), allowing the cell to take a positive charge during each high positive voltage pulse and preventing it from discharging during pulse train off-times.
