Voltage chamber (insulator cavity) prevents voltage leakage to surrounding water

Superseded

A later finding replaces this one: Voltage Chamber can be fully SELF-ENCLOSED OUTSIDE the water bath (dry gas-phase conditioning stage). This page is kept because conclusions drawn from it are still in circulation.

Surrounding the voltage zone with an electrical insulator such as Teflon, plastic, or glass (item 20 of Fig 9D) seals the voltage gap, preventing electrical leakage to the water supply and allowing a higher voltage potential to be maintained during gas production; these chambers can be arranged in parallel, series, or stacked (exit-to-inlet) arrays for compounding gas production.
