Light-gate mechanically linked to accelerator pedal performs sequential logic switching
Light-gate (9) is inserted between matched infrared devices and moved linearly between optical circuits (8x, 8xx...); as it advances or blocks light beams it sequentially switches each Optoschmitt's logic output high/low, and is mechanically linked to the car acceleration pedal via cabling hookup (22).
