Post-rewire repeat (new stubs, no headers): the diode-shunt tail reproduces (CH1 2.22 Vpp at 1 V/div). The supply energy budget (4.00 V × 15 mA = 60 mW) argues it is not real current
- Scotchn, Discord #neuralstan20-testing 2026-09-30, after rewiring onto a labelled card (A-start-B / A-End-B), with the windings flexed and no fault found (#3460–#3462). "Probes in all the same places as before" = CH1 100X diff across the 10.3 Ω cement resistor, CH2 across C_t. Supply photo: 4.00 V, 0.015 A, 0.06 W (input 30.41 V). Scope: 160 µs/div, CH1 1 V/div Vpp 2.2154 V, CH2 20 V/div Vpp 48.304 V, CH3 Vpp 49.77 mV.
- Observation — the same shape as the retracted #3454/#3455 capture. CH1 builds pulse by pulse over the burst to ~2 V, then decays over >1 ms. So the header termination is ruled out as the cause.
- Energy check against the literal reading — 2.2 V / 10.3 Ω ≈ 215 mA in winding A (33.3 mH) stores ½LI² ≈ 0.77 mJ per burst and reflects to ≈ 2.5 A in the primary (turns ratio √(33.3/0.249) ≈ 11.6). The supply shows 60 mW average. It could fund 0.77 mJ only if bursts were ≥ ~13 ms apart, and even then nearly all input would have to end up in the shunt. The earlier charge budget through C_t (≤ ~190 nC vs ~100 µC) also still stands. Conclusion (provisional): not real diode current. Remaining artifact candidates: pickup in the wirewound resistor's own coil next to the core (lead dress would not change it; the shorted-lead test excluded it); a probe differential-mode LF/overload recovery effect.
- Discriminating tests — (1) jumper across the resistor with the tips in place; (2) remove C_t to open the loop, since real loop current must vanish; (3) swap in a non-inductive metal-film/carbon resistor. Burst repetition period still to be confirmed for the energy estimate.
