US 4,798,661 FIG. 1 (Sheet 1 of 9) is the patented sibling of 8XA: isolated variable transformer > bridge > opto-gated SCR (D1 across, D2 series) > slide-switch voltage zones (lamps 50a-n + pots 60a-n) and excitor array; no bifilar chokes
Sheet posted by Scotchn, Discord #neuralstan20-testing 2026-11-04, offered as "this version of the 8XA". Read from the image plus the patent text: AC input 12/14 > SW1 (13) > variable transformer T1 (10), which the text calls "an inductive primary and secondary transformer" (two windings, so isolated, unlike 8XA's Powerstat autotransformer) > bridge 15, right arm to ground 20 > regulated DC supply 22 > variable pulsing circuit 24 (R2) > optocoupler 26 > SCR 28 with D1 drawn across it, R1, SW3 (27), series diode D2 (29) > slide switch SW2 > zones: lamps 50a-50n (61) each with pot 60a-60n to ground, plus excitor array (ER) 84/83 immersed in natural water, mechanical gap 80/81/82 with motor MCI 33 and pot 60X. Control blocks: variable voltage control (T1) 30, gas rate control 32, variable spacing 34, variable pulse rate 36, variable voltage zones 38. No resonant charging chokes on this sheet. Same SCR-as-gate front end as 8XA (so the #3363 rail-commutation analysis applies), but the load selection is lamps/pots plus gap spacing rather than a bifilar choke pair. The patent figure images are not in my figure_images index (patent text only); the 8XA OCR (figure 803) is too rough to say whether 8XA also has D1.
