Chris Freedom gate + negative-exciter simultaneous shot: cell is fed on the flyback edge, 208 kHz ring again; gate channel scaling and ground arrangement unconfirmed

  • Bench — Chris Freedom, Discord #neuralstan20-testing 2026-11-07, handheld scope photo. Same CT-secondary rig (12 V, IRF840, ACPL-W343, 38T primary, two ~380T halves, one diode per end). CH1 yellow = gate (scope still set x100, 1000 V/div). CH2 blue = cell negative exciter vs CT 0 V, 50 V/div (probe x setting not shown). 50 us/div, falling-edge trigger, AUTO.
  • Readouts — CH2 Max 8.00 V, Vpp 38.00 V, Rms 17.88 V, Fr 208.3 kHz. CH1 Max 400 V, Vpp 1.4 kV, Fr 116.2 kHz, +Du 69.77% (the frequency and duty are counting the ring, so they are not valid).
  • Read off the grid (approximate) — gate high ~55 us, period ~280 us (~3.6 kHz, ~20% duty). Blue stays flat during the on-time. Forward action at 1:10 would put ~120 V on each half, more than 2 div, and none is seen, so the diodes block the forward polarity. At gate fall the blue trace drops to about -30 V, rings at 208 kHz (the same ring as #3523), decays in ~75 us and is back at baseline before the next pulse. Pulse 2 looks the same as pulse 1, so this plate carries nothing over between pulses (one plate only, not the voltage across the cell).
  • Open — CH1 at x100 shows a 400 V gate, which is impossible, so the gate probe/x setting is mismatched (a 1x probe would mean ~4 V, i.e. under-driven). Yellow also rings after turn-off. Both channels were connected at once; ground placement still to be confirmed (on a shared-ground scope this either ties CT to battery 0 V or measures the gate against CT). CH2 probe ratio is also unconfirmed (see #3523).
