Memo WFC 426 p.7-4/143: "60 micro ohms per centimeter" is RESISTIVITY (µΩ·cm) of 430F/FR stainless, not Ω/cm — gives 36 AWG s/s ≈ 32.9 Ω/m, 30 AWG s/s ≈ 11.8 Ω/m
Page 143 (sheet 7-4) of Memo WFC 426 "VIC Matrix Circuit" (scan supplied by Scotchn, 2026-09-13) specifies the winding materials:
- Resonant Charging Chokes (614)/(615): 430F/FR stainless steel wire, 36 AWG (.006"), "equals 60 micro ohms per centimeter"
- Primary Coil (622): 22 AWG (.028") copper, 5.1933 ohms per pound weight
- Secondary Pickup Coil (623): 35 AWG (.007") copper, 1.3K ohms per pound weight
- Stainless wire coated with "Pyre-ML" trade name "Himol" polymer (DuPont polyimide enamel) for thermal/mechanical resistance
- Magnet wires (622/623) use solderable Nysol (polyurethane-nylon jacket) as electrical shield
- All dielectric coatings: effective 3 kV per mil, rated -40 to 155 °C (automotive)
KEY UNIT CORRECTION: 60 µΩ/cm read literally would be absurd (0.006 Ω/m). 60 µΩ·cm is the bulk RESISTIVITY of ferritic 430 stainless (= 6.0e-7 Ω·m, ~35x copper's 1.724 µΩ·cm). Stan quoted the material property, not the per-length resistance. Convert with R/L = ρ/A:
- 36 AWG (0.006 in = 0.1524 mm, A = 1.824e-4 cm²): 0.329 Ω/cm = 32.9 Ω/m
- 30 AWG (0.01003 in = 0.2546 mm, A = 5.09e-4 cm²): 0.118 Ω/cm = 11.8 Ω/m
Practical consequence for builders using 30 AWG s/s (Scotchn's 28-pancake bifilar, 2.5 kΩ, 39.48 mH): 2.5 kΩ implies ~212 m of wire per winding. An 11.6 kΩ reading implies ~980 m, i.e. either much longer wire or a measurement including the other leg/probe path.
Also note the coil-wrap intent stated on the same page: circular-spiral turns separated by insulated dielectric coating form "a series of capacitors (Cda xxx Cdn)" between turns (618a...618n), and produce Electromagnetic Coupling Field (621) during pulse on-time T1. The interturn capacitance is deliberate, not parasitic.
